Nearly ten years ago, Halo Combat Evolved launched with the original Xbox. Halo 2 added online support and helped to make Live what it is today. Halo has always been an influential franchise and Bungie does it again with Reach.
One of these game type experiments has grown up into something special, which Bungie also revealed during the panel: Firefight Versus. This mode takes Halo 3: ODST’s popular co-op Firefight.
The following changes will go live next Tuesday: The Firefight Arcade playlist was changed to Firefight, and new Firefight Arcade game types were added with the original Firefight Arcade game types remaining intact. Making a triumphant return to the same playlist are Limited game types, in both their original form and with a new enemy progression.
Firefight Doubles was also updated, adding new enemy progressions alongside the original Firefight Doubles game types. All six were added to Super Slayer and Team Slayer, while Imago and Pulse were added to Arena as we found them to be a good fit for the symmetrical, competitive spaces found in that particular playlist. Reorganizing voting options is one of the results of that regular data mining. To ensure you get a diverse offering of map and game type selections, we updated the Team Objective voting options to have Capture the Flag in the first slot, Oddball or KOTH in the second slot, and one of the other available game types Territories, Stockpile, Assault, etc.

They’re pretty much divided up into four categories; those you get from the Campaign, those you get from cheaping the Firefight mode, those acquired through the menu and those you get playing multiplayer matchmaking. The team is called in to investigate the sudden blackout of the Visegrad Relay , one of the planet’s primary communications hubs. Expecting a confrontation with Insurrectionists , the team lands in the remote rural area and proceeds to the relay. After interrogating a farmer and finding suspicious signs in the area, it is soon discovered that the loss of communications is the work of the Covenant , as the team is engaged by Covenant ground forces.
After they have made their way into the relay station, the team are attacked by an Elite Zealot advance team, who were on a mission to steal information from the relay. As explained to the team by the AI Auntie Dot , Sword Base is under attack from a Covenant corvette , but due to the sensitive nature of the facility, the use of orbital MAC rounds is prohibited. NOBLE Team clears the main courtyard of enemies, and is then sent on a mission to re-activate Farragut Station , a communications station they can use to get into contact with command, and Airview Base , where they need to activate an anti-air battery to clear the skies.
